Harlech is known for its medieval castle which perches on a rock above former marshland which stretches to the sand dunes and the extensive sandy beach. The castle is a World Heritage Site. Harlech is also home to St David`s golf course, a theatre and an adult education college. Part of the coastline is a nature reserve. In the hills behind the town are standing stones and other prehistoric sites. There is a wide range of accommodation as well as refreshment places.
