From soft rose hues to deep, rustic autumn tones, the terrain of Amlwch Copper Mines feature a complete artists palette of colour. Resembling a lunar landscape this once thriving mine dominated the world’s copper market in the 1780s. Broken by hand, the ore was transported by ship from Amlwch Port to Lancashire or South Wales for smelting. Today, an industrial heritage trail has been established so that everyone can enjoy what remains of this piece of Welsh history.
