The Bersham Heritage Centre is in the Clywedog Valley, an area now known for its peace and natural beauty, which was once a hive of industry. At the centre, visitors can learn about the history of the area and the life of John Wilkinson who held the lease of Bersham Ironworks in the 18th Century. He designed a new method of boring cannon and made parts for Boulton and Watts` steam engines. The remains of his works are nearby, on another site.
