Map
This small fort stands by the sea in Holyhead on Anglesey and would have once served as an important place of defence during the Roman occupation of Britain. One of only a handful of three walled Roman forts in Europe, the site is of special historical interest and is maintained with care by Welsh Heritage. The exact date of the structure is unknown, but most assume it was built around the early 4th Century.
