Caernarfon is one of the oldest and most historical communities in the north of Wales, and has through the centuries been the site of a great deal of political, economic and social change in the country. The town walls still represent the strength of this fortified town. The original battlements were put in place in the 13th Century and are no longer completely intact, but visitors still flock to see the remains of these important walkways. The site is managed and maintained by Welsh Heritage.
