Dating from the early 12th Century, Capel Lligwy is a small, roofless chapel standing isolated in a field. It was built when Viking raids had finally ceased on Anglesey. The south doorway and the base of the walls are 12th Century, whilst the nave and chancel were rebuilt in the 14th Century. The south chapel is a 16th Century addition, and a flight of steps leads to a small crypt beneath it. To see the chapel, follow the signs for Din Lligwy from the roundabout south-west of Moelfre.
