The hill of Carn Fadryn rises to 1218 feet above sea level, and is the highest peak on the Lleyn peninsula west of Pwllheli. From the summit are wonderful views of the coastline and east to the mountains of Yr Eifl and Snowdonia. It is the site of an Iron Age hill fort, and in the 12th Century the sons of Owain Gwynedd had a fortress on the top. The walk to the summit starts from the south side of the hill in the hamlet of Garnfadryn, which has limited parking.
