The Church of St Cwyfan stands on a tiny, walled island which can be reached by a causeway at low tide. A church was founded here in the 7th Century by St Cwyfan, although the present building dates from the 11th Century. Services were held in the church in the 19th Century until a church was built on the mainland. The wall around the Church of St Cwyfan was built about one hundred years ago to protect the building from the sea.
