Cwm Llan is a high valley on the south side of Snowdon`s summit and the walk to it, through woodlands then beside waterfalls, makes a fine destination for those not wanting to walk all the way up Snowdon. The path follows a stretch of the Watkin Path, built by Sir Edward Watkin MP in 1892 and opened to the public by William Gladstone. A plaque on a rock in Cwm Llan marks the spot where the Prime Minister stood to address over 2000 people. The walk starts at a car park beside Pont Bethania on the A498.
