The limestone cliffs and crags of Eglwyseg Rocks are probably the most impressive feature of the spectacular landscape around Llangollen. This striking escarpment of carboniferous limestone was laid down 400 million years ago. The Offa`s Dyke trail follows a good path across its scree slopes, whilst the plateau above is now open access land. Minor roads from Llangollen, offering views of the rocks, wind up to World`s End at the end of the Eglwyseg Valley. A car park a little further on is a good starting point for walks.
