At the Great Orme copper mines the visitor can explore tunnels worked 3,500 years ago by Bronze Age people. This is a vast underground site, where thousands of tools such as deer antler picks have been discovered. The passages open to the public are high enough to walk through, but you will see narrow, cramped tunnels, possibly worked by children. A huge cavern is one of the highlights of the tour, which includes an audio-visual film and the ongoing archaeological excavations. A visitor centre and cafe are on site.
