Sited in a beautiful location on the edge of a cliff, Llanbadrig Church is said to have been founded by St Patrick after he was shipwrecked on the nearby island of Ynys Badrig. The present church dates from the 15th Century but contains a 12th Century font and an ancient incised stone. In the late 19th Century the building was full restored by Lord Henry Stanley of Alderley. He insisted that the interior should contain elements of his own Islamic faith, and this is apparent in the predominance of the colour blue.
