In a beautiful setting above the Conwy Valley, Llanrhychwyn Church is believed to be one of the oldest churches in Wales. The doorway and surrounding walls are the oldest parts of the building, 11th or 12th Century, and the font is even older. St Rhychwyn, a 6th Century saint, is depicted in a medieval window. Llywelyn the Great worshipped at this church, but as his wife Joan complained about the long walk to it, he had a church built in the valley at Trefriw.
