Llantysilio Mountain is the name given to a range of hills above the Dee Valley that stretch from the Horseshoe Pass to Carrog near Corwen. The highest top, Moel y Gamelin, rises to 1897 feet and offers spectacular views of Eglwyseg Mountain, the Dee Valley and the Clwydian hills. It is covered with a tumulus erected about 2,000BC. A lower summit to the west, called Moel y Gaer, is topped with an Iron Age hillfort. Many footpaths go over and around the hills, and walks can be started from the Horseshoe Pass, or from Rhewl, Glyndyfrdwy or Carrog in the Dee Valley
