Llyn Dinas is a beautiful, austere lake lying in Nantgwynant below the slopes of Snowdon. A sequence for the film Inn of the Sixth Happiness was shot near the lower end, close to the River Glaslyn. Ingrid Bergman, playing the part of missionary Gladys Aylward, crossed the lake on a raft with her schoolchildren whilst fleeing from the Japanese. There is a car park nearby and good walks start from the lake, which can be reached by footpath and lane from Beddgelert.
