Llyn Geirionydd is an attractive lake in the hills above Trefriw and the Conwy Valley. On a small hill above it is a monument commemorating the birth of Taliesin, a 6th Century poet. There is a car park near the lake, which is a popular picnic place, and a pleasant walk can be taken around its shores. The lake can be reached by lane from Trefriw, or by taking a lane off the A5 between Betws-y-Coed and Capel Curig. There is also a footpath from Trefriw.
