Llyn Llydaw lies on the Miner`s Track which is a popular route to the summit of Snowdon. Built to serve the copper mines at the higher Llyn Glaslyn, the track starts from Pen y Pass and it is a fairly easy walk to Llyn Llydaw which lies at 1,430 feet above sea level. The lake is almost two hundred feet deep in places but it has no fish. The Miner`s Track crosses a causeway at the eastern end of the lake. There is a small electric power station on its shores.
