Llyn y Parc is an attractive, long, narrow, natural lake lying in the forest high above the Conwy Valley. Beneath it are tunnels and a cavern from the nearby Aberllyn lead and zinc mine which closed in the 1920s. On the western side of the lake is a seven foot wall built by French Napoleonic prisoners of war. The lake can be reached by footpath from Betws-y-Coed or Llanrwst. A delightful path wanders through bilberry plants, heather and trees along the eastern side of the lake.
