Rising to a height of 1818 feet above sea level, Moel Famau is the highest summit in the Clwydian range. The name means "Mother's Mountain". On the summit is the remains of the Jubilee Tower erected in 1810 to commemorate the 50th year of George 111's reign. Having a tower 115 feet high, it was an Egyptian style monument, but it collapsed during a storm in 1862. There is now a platform offering panoramic views on clear days. The shortest route to the summit is from the car park at Bwlch Penbarras.
