The tiny cove of Porth Meudwy is the nearest safe embarkation point for Bardsey Island, the place of twenty thousand saints. In the Middle Ages, pilgrims reached it by walking along the cliff path from Aberdaron, their last resting place before making the hazardous crossing. Today, the cove is used by local fishermen. It is on the Lleyn Coastal Path, and is less than one hour`s walk from Aberdaron. There is a car park at the beginning of the track which leads to the cove.
