Within the county of Gwynedd and the Snowdonia mountain range lies the harbour town of Porthmadog. Rich in maritime history, this shipping port was once busy with the export of slate brought from the mines of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The Ffestiniog Railway – now a popular attraction - has its terminus a short walk from the quayside. Today, Porthmadog concentrates on tourism and its beautifully situated marina which is always bustling with activity. A fabulous place to ‘drop anchor’ and watch the world go by.
