St Cadfan`s Church houses the Cadfan Stone, a stone bearing inscriptions thought to be the oldest written examples of the Welsh language. After arriving by sea in the 6th Century, St Cadfan and his brothers founded the church when they settled beside a nearby well. It became the mother church of the area. The present church dates from the 12th Century. Also of interest are the two 14th Century effigies. One is an un-named priest, and the other one, known as the Crying Knight, weeps in wet weather.
