St Cynbryd’s Church is situated on the road heading out of Llanddulas and was erected by the Hesketh family of nearby Gwrych Castle in 1868 replacing an earlier church which had been built here in 1732. Founded by St Cynbryd he fought wth Christian armies against the Pagan’s in the 5th Century. Interesting gravestones here are the Countess of Dundonald – formerly Winifred Hesketh Bamford, Captain John Williams who died aboard the Rose Schneider carrying phosphates between the US and Ireland and Muriel G. Jones who died whilst climbing Mont Rouge de Peteret in France.
