Opened in October 1852, St David’s Church is located three miles from Holywell, next to the Franciscan Friary of Pantasaph and across the road from what was once St Clare’s Convent. The graveyard has become the final resting place for generations of Brothers from the Friary and inside the church, beneath the Altar of the Blessed Sacrament is box containing the bones of St Primitivus - an early Christian martyr - gift from the Pope to the Earl of Denbigh. The ornate stained glass windows are decorated with images of monks.
