St Grwst`s Church is sited beside the lovely River Conwy, a short stroll from Ancaster Square. St Grwst was a sixth Century Celtic saint. In the 15th Century, a church was built on the ancient site, but it was burnt down during the Wars of the Roses, then rebuilt. The west tower and north aisle of the church are 19th Century. The finest feature is the medieval rood screen with its intricate, carved woodwork of vine leaves, grapes, birds pecking fruit and pigs munching acorns.
