A drive to the top of Sychnant Pass is a must for those who admire dramatic scenery. After the road was built in the 18th Century, travellers used it rather than the higher moorland road. Inns opened offering hospitality in the nearby hamlet of Capelulo. In Victorian times horse-drawn traps brought visitors from nearby resorts on exciting trips over the pass. There is now a car park near the top of Sychnant Pass, from where walks of various lengths can be taken to enjoy the scenery.
