On a headland close to the seaside village of Moelfre on Anglesey is a bench paying tribute to the dramatic rescue of the motor vessel Hindlea`s crew in October 1959. In gale force winds and waves 35 feet high, the Moelfre lifeboat rescued the coaster`s crew a few minutes before she broke her back on rocks off the headland. For their courage, all the lifeboat crew received awards. The bench marks a point overlooking the site of the rescue, and commemorates the bravery of the lifeboatmen. At low tide the remains of the wreck are visible below the cliffs.
