The Tarren Ridge forms the most southerly mountains in the Snowdonia National Park. These grassy hills are never crowded although on fine, sunny days they offer beautiful views of the surrounding hills, including Cader Idris and Pumlumon as well as the meandering Dyfi estuary. The highest peaks are Tarren y Gesail and Tarrenhendre which form a circular walk from Abergynolwyn. The grass and heather clad ridge followed westwards is also a delightful route.
