Ty Isaf is the oldest house in the picturesque village of Beddgelert in Snowdonia. It is said that the Welsh prince Llywelyn the Great had his hunting lodge on the site. The present building dates from the 17th Century when it was a farmhouse. Later it became a public house which accommodated tourists, and in the early 20th Century it was a tearoom. Ty Isaf, formerly called Bwthyn Llywelyn, is now owned by the National Trust and it has a restored 19th Century kitchen and a small exhibition.
