Ty Mawr is a delightful traditional Welsh stone cottage which has been restored by the National Trust to its probable appearance in the 16th/17th centuries. Its real claim to fame, however, is as the birthplace of Bishop William Morgan, who first translated the Bible into Welsh. The house now houses an exhibition room, including displays of Welsh and other bibles. An illuminating talk on the house, Bishop William Morgan and his times, is given by the Custodian. Pleasant walks lead from the house to the surrounding Wybrnant Valley.
