Accessible at low tide, Ynys y Fydlyn is a small, rocky island lying near a remote, shingle beach on the north-west coast of Anglesey. The Hudiksvall, a Swedish barque, foundered here in 1890; all the crew were saved by the Holyhead lifeboat. This beautiful, wild stretch of coast belongs to the National Trust, and a path to the cove starts from a small car park on a lane south-west of Cemlyn Bay. There are good coastal walks here, but paths north of the cove may be closed in autumn and winter.
