The Anfield Stadium is home to Liverpool Football Club, one of the most famous clubs in the world. Dating from 1884, the ground was actually originally home to their arch rivals Everton until they moved to Goodison Park in 1892, the year Liverpool FC was formed. Now an all seater stadium with a capacity around 42,000, the stadium has seen some of the greatest football ever played with players such as Ian Callaghan, Ray Clemence, Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush plus the legendary manager Bill Shankly. Famous parts of Anfield include The Kop which was originally a grass bank holding 30,000 spectators and the Shankly Gates inscribed with "You’ll Never Walk Alone".
