Greater Manchester is a large metropolitan area that has been protected for a number of centuries by the fire service dedicated to the city and surrounding area. This museum explores the roots of the service and through a series of artefacts, pictures and documents explains the way that the service has changed with the advent of new technology and more sophisticated working practice.
