country house built for the Shuttleworth family and restored in the mid 19th century by the renowned architect Sir Charles Barry. The opulent period rooms reflect the life-style of a wealthy aristocratic family in Victorian times. Located amidst formal gardens and wooded grounds, the house displays Jacobean and Victorian furnishings, paintings and the superb Kay-Shuttleworth collection of textiles.
