The John Rylands Library in Manchester carries a large collection of texts that have been brought together from many years of history. There are texts that cover a massive area of genres for visitors to browse through. From time to time, this cultural hub and forum becomes a place where talks are given on academic subjects as well as exhibits made on a range of things.

I love dusting off old documents and trying to discover new information and maybe even to find something exciting from the past, so a visit to the John Rylands Library with its over four million books is a great place to try. This place was founded in honour of Manchester cotton magnate John Rylands and what a beautiful building it is too and I think it must rate as one of the prettiest libraries in the United Kingdom. Well worth a visit even if you’re just planning to have a look around let alone do some research. - Neil Mcleod
