This museum houses the largest military collection in the north west of England. It covers the fascinating history of three infantry regiments from the raising of Lord Castleton’s Regiment of the Foot in 1689 through until the foundations of the modern regiment. There is an archive library here, as well as an extensive collection of artefacts that include weapons, medals, uniforms and photographs.
