The Rare Book Archive is owned and managed by the University of Lancaster and is available for the public to browse, as well as being a valuable resource to academics. There are several famous and significant collections contained within the archive which include the Hesketh Collection; bringing together books and other texts that belonged to the lord, crossing a range of subjects including high art, history and ornithology.
