The River Dunsop cuts through a picturesque valley before joining with the River Hodder at Dunsop Bridge, recognised by the Ordnance Survey as the official centre of Great Britain in 1992. The countryside here is beautiful and has been credited with the status of being recognised as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It comes as no surprise that is therefore popular with walkers. The river itself is a well known salmon and trout fishing tributary of the River Ribble, the main river in the region.
