In 1998, Blackpool’s lifeboats moved to a new, purpose-built structure on the sea front. It is the third lifeboat station that has served Blackpool since it became a popular destination in Victorian times. The building houses a fun and informative exhibition about the history and work of the RNLI in Blackpool. The centre includes a viewing platform where visitors can see the actual equipment ready for use. Blackpool is one of only two stations in England to have three inshore craft.
