This enormous four-storey building is one of the most significant pieces of industrial heritage remaining in the area. Containing a fine working example of a ‘Giant Grasshopper’ engine, a steam pump used to clear water from the Mersey Tunnel, the museum offers an insight into the history of technology. There are audio and video presentations that bring to life many scenes in industrial and social history in this area of Merseyside.
