Lord Street, a wide and impressive Victorian street which runs through the centre of Southport, as well as incorporating important civic buildings, is now also a place for quiet enjoyment, outdoor recreation and entertainment. Situated in this once world renowned ’high class’ seaside resort, the conservation project has resurrected the Victorian Pleasure Garden idea. As well as an area to sit and reflect, the award winning Town Gardens accommodates a bandstand which regularly plays host to a variety of live music.
