Staircase House is a traditional townhouse that has been beautifully restored on the market square in the heart of Stockport. The house has gained fame and reputation for the central cage newell staircase that dates from 1618. The house contains a series of displays and exhibitions which illustrate the journey the property has gone through from humble beginnings as a cruck framed building in the 14th Century to become a fine 17th Century property of note.
