Sudley House was once the family home of the Holt family. George Holt was the founder of the Liverpool shipping firm, Lamport, and was one of the pioneers of early trade with Brazil. It was built in the early 1800s and is surrounded by a pleasant area of parkland that has been landscaped to represent the best of the area. The house is open to the public and contains an extensive collection of paintings and antiques that belonged to the family.
