The Brindley Theatre offers a first-class entertainment venue at the heart of Runcorn. The main auditorium is a 420-seat theatre where a range of productions are shown throughout the year, from pantomime and comedy, to musical events and serious drama. There is also a 108-seat studio where films are screened and art exhibitions take place. The centre also has an open access darkroom, digital imaging equipment and a café bar overlooking the canal.

Went to the Brindley for the first time on 11th November 2011; it was a shame that the act on was very disappointing, although I had had very good reviews from family and friends about the type of performers that had appeared previously. The venue is beautiful - very comfortable and impressive but as I said the act Unforgettable wasn't. My party (six of us in total of varying ages) were expecting to have a fun night maybe singing along with or having a dance (at our seats of course). Let's face it - surely thats what a 50s & 60s night should be about? I have been to these types of performances before and the artiste have been totally interractive with the audience; however I found the singers totally self-indulgent. They only really involved the audience at the very end for a couple of minutes (after we had sat through a compilation of quite mediocre songs). By that time people were starting to leave. This is not a big name group; they need to do more than just sing and dance to entertain - it's about audience contact. However, give credit were its due - the bloke on the keyboard did put his hands up at some point and clap and the musicians were also quite good. As regards the children, why the Brindley saw the need to bring on 15 local children as backing dancers I will never know. The children weren't very well presented and appeared...
