The Turnpike Gallery opened in 1971 and offers a large and modern multi-purpose space in which visitors can enjoy a range of contemporary art shows. There is a focus on outreach to the local community, both in developing a new understanding of art amongst the populous, but also harnessing the talents of young and emerging artists. The result is a first class model of artistic efficiency and a tremendously entertaining complex.
