This nature reserve is a fine place for a day trip. One of the largest limestone hills in the area, Warton Crag, can be seen for miles around providing magnificent views of its jagged rock faces. As a former provider of limestone, this crag is a major reason for the expansion of Carnforth as a railway town. There are still several abandoned lime kilns located in the area. People have however been known to get lost in the woods, but with exciting trails to follow and all kinds of wildlife to be on the look out for, you are sure to enjoy yourself!
