Williamson Park, close to the centre of town, is a 54 acre area of grass and woodland, that was constructed by James Williamson in 1880. In 1999 Whitney Carr was added to the park, bringing it to it’s current size. The park contains an outdoor auditorium, that is often used by local theatre groups to stage performances, an orienteering course, a multitude of curiosities and structures, and miles of accessible paths so that everyone can enjoy the park.
