Housed in a former Londonderry Port & Harbour Commissioners office built in 1882, the Harbour Museum deals mainly with the city's maritime history, and offers an insight into Derry's crucial role during the 'Battle of the Atlantic' period. Many displays relate to the city's links with America, especially during World War 2. Located on the banks of the River Foyle, the museum houses a range of artefacts and temporary exhibitions, including a full 30-foot replica of the Curragh, which St. Columba sailed to Iona in 563 AD. Admission is free for all.
