Queen’s University is one of the oldest universities in the UK, having been founded in 1810, and has a well-deserved reputation for academic excellence. The Students’ Union promotes the students’ interest to the wider community through a wide variety of live entertainment. The Union’s Mandela Hall is widely considered to be one of the best entertainment venues in Belfast and regularly hosts concerts and comedy, as well as showcasing local talent. The university also annually hosts the Belfast Festival at Queen’s the Belfast Film Festival.
