Rosemary Cathcart began this collection shortly after she married and moved to this area of Northern Ireland. The museum is now filled with one of the most impressive dedicated collections of lace anywhere in the country, and traces the history of the art form and industry in the country from its earliest roots. The museum has on several occasions won the Gulbenkian Award for Most Improved Voluntary Museum.
